SEOUL, Korea, August 30, 2023 — FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, is collaborating with the Gyeongsangbuk-do provincial government to support local businesses, such as small and medium enterprises (SMEs) who are looking to expand their presence into global markets.

Through the collaboration, FedEx is providing shipping discounts to Gyeongsangbuk-do businesses. Customers in key industries such as semiconductors, biopharmaceuticals, wireless communication devices, and automobile manufacturing[1] will benefit from recently enhanced services including same-day delivery service on inbound shipments from Asia, Europe, and the United States, as well as FedEx International Economy®, a cost-effective option for less urgent shipments.

“Gyeongsangbuk-do’s favorable business environment for both local enterprises and multi-national companies plays an instrumental role in Korea’s economic development. This collaboration could not have come at a better time with the growing demand for automotive, high-tech electronics, and pharmaceutical products as customers look to access a portfolio of differentiated solutions to grow their businesses globally,” said Wonbin Park, managing director of FedEx Express Korea.

“We are delighted to announce our collaboration with FedEx. With over a thousand member companies, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Export Enterprises Association believes that businesses in the area will reap the benefits from this collaboration. Gyeongsangbuk-do aims to develop Daegu-Gyeongbuk International Airport into a logistics hub, providing enterprises with cost-effective logistics facilities. The province is committed to leading the establishment of logistics infrastructure and attract global logistics companies like FedEx to create greater possibilities for business owners to grow,” remarked Lee Cheol-woo, governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do.

FedEx will be participating in the 2023 Gyeongsangbuk-Do Aviation, Defense & Logistics Exhibition (GADLEX 2023) at Booth #C37~38 from September 6 to 8. During the event, FedEx experts will share their expertise in logistics and cover important shipping topics such as customs clearance and logistics strategies with customers.
