FedEx expects to move more than 1,000,000 pounds of critical supplies for charitable organizations responding to the crisis in Haiti. The first FedEx Express flight arrived in Haiti from Miami on Sunday, January 17.
The relief shipments FedEx has already transported include
World Vision: 150,000 pounds of relief supplies arrived in Santo Domingo from Denver, CO on Monday, January 18.
- Heart to Heart: 100,000 pounds of medical supplies, valued at $5 Million and serving over 35,000 people have been delivered to Haiti.
Water Missions: Delivery of 30 Living Water Treatment systems which provide water for up to 150,000 people daily. Each unit purifies 10 gallons of water per minute, up to 10,000 gallons per day, enough for up to 5000 people in a disaster response.

Direct Relief International: 16,000 pounds of medical supplies were delivered to HaitiWednesday, January 20. On Feb. 5, an additional flight is scheduled to deliver 40,000 pounds of medical supplies valued at $16 million.
- LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center and Haiti Medical Mission: Delivered a medical team and 40,000 lbs. of medical supplies including pharmaceuticals, antibiotics, anesthesia, antivirals, vaccines and operating room equipment.
- Salvation Army: FedEx Custom Critical delivered 44,352 meals-ready-to-eat (MREs) to staging warehouse in Miami
FedEx is donating more than $1.8 million in cash and in-kind transportation to move relief supplies to the devastated area. There is a critical need for such basic items as medical supplies, tarps, blankets, cook sets, hygiene kits, collapsible water bottles, food, water and shelter. FedEx is using its logistical expertise to ensure that these life-saving shipments arrive as quickly as possible.
FedEx has a long history of using its global network to deliver important and life-saving aid and support to lessen the pain and loss experienced by victims of natural disasters. Recent relief efforts include $300,000 in cash contributions and $500,000 of in-kind shipping to deliver aid to victims of the earthquake in China in May 2008.
