Sales climb from a few packages shipping each day during the summer months to “several thousand a day during the holidays,” according to Velvet Crème’s Jerry Wright.
Velvet Crème pops its corn in small batches, and has seen its reach expand over the years since the company began in 1937. Especially during the holidays, people are anxious to dig into what the company calls the “original popcorn in a can.” But, hungry U.S. and international customers can also get their favorite flavored popcorn in bags as well.
Wright says that shipping the rush of holiday orders means “our customers depend on the service.” Because Velvet Crème wasn’t satisfied with the carrier it was using, it switched to FedEx Ground. And now? “We think they’re great,” Wright says of FedEx, going on to point out the great rapport between FedEx Ground and Velvet Crème customers.
“We feel very proud of those guys,” said Wright of the FedEx Ground couriers, calling them “very courteous” as they bring the great taste of Velvet Crème Popcorn to customers.
