LAS VEGAS – June 4, 2012 – Twelve drivers representing FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) operating companies placed among the top finishers at the 2012 Nevada State Truck Driving Championship in Las Vegas on June 2.
- Harold Simmons, a driver for Velocity Transportation, Inc. based at the FedEx Ground station in Las Vegas, took home the first-place trophy in the 4-Axle class. He also earned the Grand Champion title for achieving the highest score among the winners of all classes and the Rookie of the Year award.
- Las Vegas-based FedEx Express drivers Jason Martinie and Bruce Wilson, a driver for FedEx Freight based in Reno, captured first in the Tank Truck class.
- FedEx Freight driver Matt Hart (Elko) finished second in the 3-Axle class.
- Art Corral Jr., a driver for Big Country, Inc. based at the FedEx Ground station in Las Vegas, finished second in the Straight Truck class.
- Las Vegas-based FedEx Express driver Robert Cromley took home the second-place trophy in the Step Van class.
- Daniel Maley (Las Vegas) and Gragg Wilson (Reno), drivers for FedEx Freight, finished third in the 4-Axle and Flatbed classes, respectively.
- Las Vegas-based FedEx Express driver Anthony Dorsey finished third in the 3-Axle class.
- Jessica Crossley, a driver for T-N-T Logistics, Inc. based at the FedEx Ground station in Reno, finished third in the Straight Truck class, completing a sweep in that class by FedEx.
- Sergio Romero, owner of Nevada’s Finest, Inc. based at the FedEx Ground station in Las Vegas, capped the FedEx sweep of the Step Van class with his third-place finish.
