MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 26, 2018—FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) announced today that it has been named one of the 2018 Best Workplaces for Millennials by Fortune Magazine. Millennials (under the age of 35) currently constitute the largest generation in the U.S. workforce—and this respected list is a national ranking of 100 employers who scored highest among them as their favorite places to work.
“At FedEx, we believe our people are our greatest asset, so we strive to create an environment where all of our team members feel connected, respected, valued and proud,” said David J. Bronczek, president and COO of FedEx Corp. “This award speaks to the benefits that come with making diversity of thought, experience and background part of the fabric of our company.”
This honor is the latest in a long list of awards FedEx has received for fostering a positive work environment. Earlier this year, the company was recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the 2018 Best Companies to Work For and also earned the number nine spot on its World’s Most Admired Companies list. FedEx was also recently named a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation and was acknowledged as one of the Best Companies for Diversity by both Fortune and Black Enterprise.
To determine the companies included on the Best Workplaces for Millennials list, global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work surveyed more than 398,000 millennial workers and ranked them based on key factors that define a great workplace, such as the competence of management, respect and fairness in the workplace, and opportunities for meaningful work. How their experience compares to their colleagues of other generations and whether or not that experience was consistent among millennials of diverse backgrounds were also considerations.
