The awards provide the transportation industry with a measure of customer satisfaction and performance excellence among both carriers and third-party logistics (3PL) service providers.

More than 6,175 readers of Logistics Management magazine ranked carriers on the basis of five key criteria: on-time performance, value, information technology, customer service, and equipment & operations. The 3PL providers are rated on different criteria: carrier selection & negotiation, order fulfillment, transportation & distribution, inventory management, and logistics information systems.
