Taipei, July 19, 2010--Chinese Basketball National Team, sponsored by FedEx Express, subsidiary company of FedEx Corp and one of the world’s largest express transportation company, took part in the 32nd Jones Cup basketball tournament. Chinese Men’s Basketball National team scored a victorious 103:55 against Australia in the opening game with 48 points ahead. Chinese Women’s Basketball National team made an outstanding performance and will be competing for first place with Korea tonight (19th).

The Jones Cup tournament started in 1978 and is held annually in Taiwan. This year’s game is held from 7/13(Wed) to 7/20(Tue) in Hsinchuang Stadium, Taipei County. This game is vital to the exchange between Taiwan and international Basketball community. The Chinese Basketball National Team will be competing with representatives from Korea, Kazakhstan, Japan, Australia, Lebanon, Iran, Philippines and etc. In November, the Team will be heading for the Asian Games held in Guangzhou, and this year’s Jones Cup is viewed as the warm-up game for Asian Games. Awarding ceremony will be held on 7/20(Tues) at 9 PM. During the game, FedEx Express will provide the national teams with its best support, and Chinese Basketball National Team is expected to have outstanding performance in the arena.
