MIAMI, Dec. 23, 2013 — More than 99 percent¹ of companies in the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region are small- to mid-sized businesses (SMBs), and most of them are lacking a vital resource—time. Now, thanks to a new tool from FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), LAC businesses can more quickly and efficiently prepare packages for shipment without a log-in, saving valuable time for other business functions.

FedEx Ship Manager LiteTM is an intuitive online tool created for new or small shippers that makes it simple to send packages up to 68 kilos (approximately 150 pounds) via FedEx Express®. The simplified tool, available just in time for holiday gift shipping at https://www.fedex.com, guides users through each step of the shipping process. Users simply input their FedEx account number, package destination information, size and other information, obtain rate and transit time estimates, and pay via credit card—all without a log-in. Another version of the tool, which is currently available in Brazil and due out soon in other markets, allows users to ship with just their credit card information without creating an account.

FedEx Ship Manager Lite access is also mobile friendly, so users can prepare shipments via their smartphone, tablet or other mobile device.

“We’re constantly offering innovative ways for our customers to access the global marketplace and looking for better ways to support businesses of all sizes,” said Salil Chari, managing director of marketing for FedEx Express Latin America and Caribbean Division. “This online and mobile tool is designed to save all shippers—especially SMBs—valuable time so they can get the job done.”
