Family First, a national non-profit organization based in Tampa, Fla., bestowed its 2011 Family First Champion Award on FedEx Express Chief Operating Officer and President of its International Division, Michael L. Ducker, during its annual “Challenges and Champions” banquet. This award is bestowed on an individual or company that has exhibited an unequivocal commitment to strengthening families in the communities that they serve.

“Mike Ducker is a unique leader that is not only committed to strengthening families in his local community of Memphis - his commitment extends well beyond that by working with charities including Family First on family-strengthening programs in many other cities, most notably Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New York City, and Tampa,” said Darrin Gray, Director of Corporate Partnerships, Family First. “FedEx, with the unwavering support of Mike, is a faithful sponsor of the All Pro Dad Father & Kids Experience.”

A three-hour event held at an NFL stadium or practice facility, during the All Pro Dad Father & Kids Experience, dads and kids spend time bonding with each other while rotating through football-themed stations and learning tips on how to become a better father. Past event spokesmen have included Jim Caldwell, head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, Michael Tomlin, head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and John Harbaugh, head coach of the Baltimore Ravens.

Ducker was the liaison for the appearance of Tony Dungy as the keynote speaker on Uncommon Leadership at FedEx Memphis Headquarters. FedEx also provided volunteers through their FedEx Cares program at the National PTA Convention in Memphis, as well as the Father & Kids Experiences.

“Mike is known for his great leadership and influence. Family First would also like to acknowledge his faith, his integrity, and his devotion to his wife, Cheryl, and their daughter, Rachel,” said Darrin Gray, Director of Corporate Partnerships, Family First. “For all these reasons, Michael Ducker is a champion, not only in business, but in life.”
