Mumbai, April 4, 2013 — FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, today announced the launch of its Ship Site program in India—a business building alliance offering increased access points to experience an even faster, easier and more convenient way to send shipments. The first alliance in the program is with the Bangalore-based printing chain Printo.

Under the terms of the agreement, customers will be given access to world-class FedEx services at 12 high-street Printo locations in Bangalore. The launch of this Ship Site program with Printo comes as FedEx looks to increase its retail footprint in India.

“With the launch of our Ship Site program in India we are even better placed to satisfy the growing needs of our retail customers. We aim to provide more convenience and accessibility while delivering the same high-quality service, reliability and unparalleled transportation expertise that FedEx is known for,” said Rakesh Shalia, managing director, Marketing, FedEx Express Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa.

“Our alliance with Printo will enable us to be present in 12 additional locations in Bangalore thus increasing our proximity to our customers. Printo’s international quality print services and wide base of small business customers make the association an ideal fit for FedEx.”

India’s retail sector is worth US$ 350 billion and has a low organized retail penetration of five per cent to eight per cent. According to a PricewaterhouseCoopers[1], this is now growing at a compound annual growth rate of 15 per cent to 20 per cent. This growing retail sector offers increased opportunities thus positively impacting industries associated with it. The launch of the Ship Site program will not only help FedEx to further expand its retail footprint but will also provide the much needed convenience to customers who wish to copy, print and ship all under one roof.

“We are delighted to announce our alliance with FedEx Express. FedEx and Printo complement each other through our customer base as well as through our culture of great customer service backed by the promise of convenience and reliability—something both companies are steadfast about. With this alliance, we aim to provide additional convenience to our customers in their local neighborhood, empowering them to reach out to 880 locations within India and 220 countries worldwide. We are positive our customers will benefit by this association,” said Manish Sharma, CEO, Printo.

Customers can not only print their merchandise at Printo and ship it directly with FedEx, but can also use their nearest Printo outlet as a one stop solution for all their additional shipping needs thanks to the availability of FedEx services. Printo and FedEx customers can ship to 220 countries and territories worldwide and to 880 key destinations within India.
