Li Yongbo Continues to Serve As “China Safe Kids Walk This Way Ambassador”

Shanghai, 24 November 2008 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, and the China National Badminton Team today joined Safe Kids Worldwide, a global non-profit organization, to promote the Safe Kids Walk This Way program at Pudong Huamu Central Primary School in Shanghai.



Li Yongbo, head coach of the nation’s badminton team, was named “China Safe Kids Walk This Way Ambassador” for the next term. More than 260 primary school students, nearly 20 FedEx volunteers and four members of China ’s badminton team joined in the day’s activities.



FedEx and Safe Kids Worldwide launched the Walk This Way program in the US in 1999 to promote safety awareness for children all over the world. Since FedEx began its relationship with Safe Kids China in April 2004, it has sponsored safety education for more than 1.4 million students and parents through various programs covering more than 2,000 schools throughout the country.



Li Yongbo began to serve as “China Safe Kids Walk This Way Ambassador” in 2006. Ever since then, he and China National Badminton Team have played a leading role in promoting the Safe Kids Walk This Way program in China to raise the social awareness of walking safety for kids.
