As the holiday season approaches, staying connected with loved ones, whether near or far, becomes more meaningful than ever. Even when distance keeps us apart, a thoughtful package from Puerto Rico, filled with handmade gifts, traditional flavors, or heartfelt surprises, can bring us closer. FedEx strives to deliver packages safely and on time, helping families share the spirit of the season from Puerto Rico to the mainland and beyond.

To help customers successfully navigate their shipping process, FedEx recommends the following deadlines when shipping to the United States and abroad:

Christmas Eve (December 24): Ship packages no later than December 22, 2025, when using International Priority and December 19, 2025, if using International Economy.

And because timing isn’t the only key to a successful delivery, FedEx is also offering a few practical tips to help make holiday shipping even easier:

FedEx Holiday Shipping Tips:

Ship early: Beat the holiday rush. The sooner you ship, the better!

Pack with care: Use sturdy boxes in great condition (reused is fine if they’re undamaged and label-free). Add plenty of cushioning for fragile or handmade items, and double-box if needed.

Avoid restricted items: While shipping alcohol like coquito isn’t permitted, you can still share the spirit by sending the ingredients and your family’s favorite recipe.

Mind the menu: For traditional foods, check USDA guidelines. Need help with cold shipping? Visit a FedEx Ship Center.

Add backup info: Include a second label or contact details inside the box in case the outer label gets damaged.

Seal and style smartly: Secure your package using the H-taping method, and tuck decorative wrapping inside the box to keep labels visible and avoid delays in delivery.

Customers in Puerto Rico can drop off or pick up their packages at any of the 18 FedEx Ship Centers, one of the 35 Authorized Ship Centers, or at one of the 104 Walgreens stores on the island that offer FedEx drop-off or pick-up services at no additional cost.
