FedEx employees in Guatemala joined Feed the Children, a global movement focused on ending childhood hunger, to assemble personal hygiene kits for children and adolescents in Palencia and Sololá, marking the third consecutive year of the effort. The volunteer event, held on May 20 at the FedEx station on Calzada Atanasio Tzul in Guatemala City, is part of Feed the Children’s Clean Futures Alliance initiative.
The program focuses on providing meaningful, community-centered support by incorporating critical Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) components. Through practical, school-based interventions and educational resources, the initiative is designed to reinforce healthy habits and improve the well-being of local children and their families.
“At FedEx, we are deeply committed to creating a positive impact in the communities we serve. Our partnership with Feed the Children Guatemala is one of our core initiatives in Latin America under our global FedEx Cares program,” said Jorge Mario Mendoza, country manager of FedEx in Guatemala. “Over the past three years, we have been privileged to support thousands of children and their families by helping to meet some of their most basic needs.”
“Access to hygiene supports children’s health, confidence and ability to stay engaged in school,” said Ignacio Girón, regional director for Central America at Feed the Children. “Through our continued collaboration with FedEx, we are expanding access to community-driven solutions in Guatemala that help children learn, grow, and build healthier futures.”
The organizations encourage everyone to join the movement to end childhood hunger so children everywhere can survive and thrive. Supporters who want to make an impact can donate or learn more at feedthechildren.org or fedexcares.com.
