With CyberDay set to take place from June 1–3, Chilean e-commerce activity is expected to reach one of its busiest periods for the year. In this context, FedEx is sharing recommendations for safe shopping and shipping at a time when more consumers are purchasing online and expecting fast, reliable and transparent deliveries.

According to data from the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, two out of every three people in Chile currently shop online at least once a month, reflecting a more mature and established market. E-commerce now accounts for approximately 12.6% of retail sales and is projected to continue growing steadily this year, driven by increasingly experienced consumers who prioritize convenience and efficiency in their shopping experiences.

During high-demand events such as CyberDay, when domestic and international shipping volumes increase significantly, effective logistics management becomes essential to ensure successful deliveries within expected timeframes.

In this context, FedEx shares the following recommendations to help optimize the shopping and shipping experience:

  • Enter delivery information accurately: The recipient’s full name, detailed address, phone number and email address are essential to help avoid delays.
  • Track shipments: Use tracking tools to monitor the status of purchases and shipments.
  • Use trusted and official websites: Purchase only from recognized platforms and always verify website authenticity.
  • Consider shipping timelines: During large-scale shopping events, delivery times may be extended, making advance planning important.
  • For international shipments, declare products accurately: Providing precise shipment information can help facilitate customs clearance processes and avoid delays.
  • Monitor delivery notifications: Review emails or messages related to shipments to coordinate receipt of packages.

As part of its value proposition, FedEx offers digital tools designed to enhance customer experience. Among them is Picture Proof of Delivery Attempt (PPODA), which allows users to view an image of a package at the time of delivery through online tracking. This feature provides greater transparency and confidence, particularly for residential deliveries.

“Today’s consumers are looking not only for speed, but also visibility and control over their shipments. During periods such as CyberDay, when shipping volumes increase significantly, our focus is on ensuring efficient operations and a reliable experience from beginning to end, while incorporating technology that enables customers to know exactly where and when they will receive their purchases,” said Matias Reguera, Director of Operations, FedEx Chile.

Internationally, the company continues to strengthen its air connectivity, including its direct route to Miami operated multiple times per week. This helps optimize transit times and facilitate cross-border trade, particularly for small and medium-sized businesses.

Through these efforts, FedEx reaffirms its commitment to supporting the growth of e-commerce in Chile, backed by a strong local operation and global connectivity. The company operates the country’s broadest domestic network, including more than 500 operational routes serving more than 400 cities nationwide, as well as proprietary international flights connecting customers to more than 220 countries and territories worldwide.
