Federal Express Corporation, the world’s largest express transportation company, further strengthens its role as a strategic transport service in the international expansion of Colombia’s fashion industry, having exported 5.3 million pounds of apparel, footwear, and fashion products between June 2025 and May 2026. These categories are the company’s second largest vertical industry in the country after flowers. The growth reflects the trust Colombia’s fashion industry places in FedEx logistics capabilities to connect with customers around the world.

This milestone comes at a strategic time for the industry. In 2025, Colombia’s fashion and apparel industry recorded US$ 920.6 million in exports. The United States remained the sector’s leading export market, with US$ 255.8 million in exports, representing 27.8% of total export value.[1] This underscores the growth potential of Colombian brands and the importance of working with a trusted carrier like FedEx to help them expand their reach and grow their presence in the U.S. market.

To build on this momentum, FedEx in collaboration with Inexmoda, continues to strengthen and expand opportunities through SONNAR, a program designed to support the international growth of Colombian and Latin American brands in the fashion industry. During Colombiamoda Medellín 2026, the country’s premier fashion industry event, the program is supporting Peruvian brand Divina Esencia alongside Colombian brands Agua de Sol, Bibiana Hernández, Barcés, and Misha Shoes, showcasing regional talent and fostering cross-border collaboration to help more companies strengthen their value propositions and expand into new international markets.

“Colombiamoda is a key platform for brands across Colombia’s fashion industry to turn their talent and commercial potential into new growth opportunities,” said Ana Lucía López, sales manager for FedEx in Colombia. “At FedEx, we understand that expanding into new markets requires both a strong value proposition and a logistics provider that can support businesses through opportunities, educational resources, visibility, and meaningful business connections. Through SONNAR and our collaboration with Inexmoda, we help brands navigate that journey by providing practical solutions that strengthen their competitiveness.”

The 2026 edition of SONNAR received 362 applications, and since the program launched in 2020, nearly 1,000 brands have participated in its initiatives focused on education, visibility, and business networking. To support brands throughout their growth journey, FedEx offers a robust infrastructure and a comprehensive portfolio of logistics solutions. The company operates multiple weekly services from Colombia, including six weekly flights and a dedicated route connecting Bogotá and Medellín with Miami. These services provide businesses with access to the FedEx global network, connecting more than 220 countries and territories. This network is complemented by solutions designed to strengthen the competitiveness of Colombia’s fashion industry and support its continued expansion into international markets.
