SÃO PAULO, Brazil, December, 2008 – FedEx, the world’s largest express transportation company, was honored as Best Logistic Services Provider in the 9th edition of the AutoData Award, considered the most important recognition for companies, products and professionals in the Brazilian automotive sector. FedEx received the trophy for Best Logistics Provider in 2008 during a ceremony held on November 26, in Sao Paulo.
The AutoData Award honors the best in the automotive sector, based on a survey of successful case studies from main Brazilian companies in this industry. The forty-five top companies ranked qualify for the final round, when AutoData members vote on the best company in each category. FedEx competed against four renowned logistics companies and received the majority of votes.
“We are very proud to receive this award and we would like to thank our devoted team at FedEx, who always strive to provide excellent services, as well as our loyal customers. This award represents the scope and recognition that our brand has achieved in the Brazilian automotive sector,” said Carlos Ienne, Managing Director of FedEx Express for Mercosur Region.
The customers from the automotive segment, which represent 40% of FedEx Express total customers in Brazil, can expect the company’s steady commitment to the development of the best alternatives to meet customers’ expectations. “For FedEx, it is fundamental to meet the demands of different business areas in Brazil. We can ship anything, from the smallest document to a Formula 1 race car. In fact, our limit is the size of the door of our cargo planes,” said Ienne.
