At FedEx, our commitment is to connect Colombia with the world through reliable, agile logistics solutions designed to meet the needs of exporters. This capability becomes especially relevant in industries such as floriculture, where timing, precision, visibility, and product care are critical.

Seasons like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day put the entire logistics chain to the test. During these periods, millions of Colombian flowers must arrive fresh and on time to international markets, particularly in North America. To achieve this, FedEx strengthens its operations with a global network, specialized infrastructure, and services that enable efficient responses to peaks in high demand.

One such service is FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® (IPD), a solution to send multiple pieces from a single origin country location to multiple recipients in a single destination country. In the case of flowers, this service offers delivery times of 48 to 72 hours from Bogotá and Medellín, with processes that begin immediately after harvest and help preserve the freshness required by the market.

Our commitment is to support a sector with a clear export-oriented vocation. Nearly 95% of Colombia’s floriculture production is destined for international markets, positioning the country as the world’s second-largest flower exporter and the leading supplier to the United States. This capacity confirms Colombia’s potential to continue connecting with the world and strengthening its position in the market competitiveness.[1]
