FedEx, the world’s largest express transportation company, announces a new phase of investments in Brazil focused on expanding and integrating the infrastructure supporting its international and Supply Chain services. The company plans to invest more than US$15 million (R$75 million) in the country to open facilities in strategic locations and expand distribution centers.
The new facilities will operate as multifunctional service centers, integrating International transportation and Supply Chain operations. Services will include pick-up and delivery of international shipments, forward stocking locations, last-mile distribution for point-of-sale (POS) equipment, and critical deliveries, providing customers with greater agility, convenience, and efficiency.
“These investments reinforce our commitment to FedEx operations in Brazil and to a long-term growth strategy focused on strengthening our services,” said Camila Lima, vice president of operations at FedEx in Brazil. “We are creating the conditions to provide customers with increasingly connected, flexible, and efficient solutions.”
By the end of September, facilities are expected to open in Curitiba, Paraná; Itabuna, Bahia; João Pessoa, Paraíba; Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo; Aracaju, Sergipe; Goiânia, Goiás; and Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro. The project includes 34 new facilities and already has recently opened service centers in the Pacaembu neighborhood of São Paulo, São Paulo; São Luís, Maranhão; São José dos Campos, São Paulo; Londrina, Paraná; Joinville, Santa Catarina; Florianópolis, Santa Catarina; Campinas, São Paulo; Pouso Alegre, Minas Gerais; and other cities.
Supply Chain
In addition to the new facilities designed to integrate international and logistics services, FedEx is expanding its Supply Chain infrastructure and portfolio. The company has begun expanding operational capacity at the Cajamar facility, increasing from 55,000 to 90,000 pallet positions. The project includes infrastructure investments and technology modernization, with the implementation of new compact automation and sorting solutions. In Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Pernambuco, the existing warehouse will expand from 16,000 square meters to 26,000 square meters and undergo upgrades to meet Triple A standards.
The portfolio has also been redesigned to add customized and modular solutions. FedEx now offers end-to-end management, from supplier and international freight monitoring to customs clearance, warehousing, and product preparation for final destinations in the Brazilian market.
Among the new offerings is a solution for companies that work with spare parts. Under this model, FedEx manages the entire logistics chain, including production lead times, international transportation, customs processes, and value-added services, providing greater operational efficiency, predictability, and control throughout the operation.
