Heart to Heart, FedEx to Deliver First Private Airlift To Sichuan

CHENGDU, May 26, 2008 – Heart to Heart International, a global humanitarian organization, in cooperation with FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, yesterday delivered relief supplies valued at more than US$1.5 million to Sichuan Province, the southwestern province devastated by a 8.0 magnitude earthquake on May 12. It is the first major shipment of private aid from the U.S. to the earthquake zone.


After departing at 14:20 p.m. (U.S. Central Time) on Friday, May 23 from Kansas City International Airport, the emergency airlift of critical pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, blankets and tarps landed at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport just after midnight on Saturday, May 24. The vital supplies will support millions of people over the next two months.
