FedEx Wins Award for Delivering Positive Impact at the Happiness Together CSR Campaign 2020

SEOUL, Mar 18, 2020 — FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, announced it received the recognition for Best Corporate Responsibility Award on Educational Scholarship at the Happiness Together CSR Campaign 2020.

The Happiness Together CSR Award, which marks its 10th anniversary this year, recognizes organizations that fulfill corporate social responsibilities through voluntary activities and programs in order to promote a culture of contributing to society and supporting the community. The Awards are co-hosted by the Korea Enterprises Federation and Association of Korean Journalists and sponsored by seven government ministries including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Ministry of Health and Welfare.

This year, FedEx was recognized in the Educational Scholarship category for its International Trade Challenge (ITC) program, which aims to cultivate youth entrepreneurship and empower the business leaders of tomorrow. Hosted by FedEx and Junior Achievement (JA), the ITC program enables participants to gain practical experience of creating a business and to understand the workings of international trade, as well as the opportunity to compete with entrepreneurs in 10 APAC markets. Launched in 2007, participation in the FedEx-JA International Trade Challenge has grown from 295 students representing three markets to 2,716 students representing 10 markets in 2019.

“We are delighted to receive the Happiness Together CSR Award in recognition of our continued efforts in nurturing the next generation of Korean entrepreneurs. At FedEx, we are committed to using our business and logistics expertise to enable change and new possibilities in Korea,” said Eun-Mi Chae, managing director of FedEx Express Korea. “Through the ITC program, we continue to foster future business leaders by providing them with the opportunity to gain firsthand experience in developing business ideas to facilitate international trade. FedEx was founded by an entrepreneur and we believe in connecting entrepreneurs with the resources they need, so they can create new jobs, support their families and contribute to thriving communities.”
