FedEx Trade Networks Named Global Freight Forwarder of the Year at the 2013 Payload Asia Awards

MEMPHIS, Tenn., October 17, 2013 — FedEx Trade Networks, the freight forwarding and customs brokerage arm of global shipping giant FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), announced today that it has been recognized as the Global Freight Forwarder of the Year in the 2013 Payload Asia Awards. This event follows the successful inaugural Payload Asia Awards, which took place last September. Fred Schardt, FedEx Trade Networks President and CEO, was on hand to accept the award.

Organized by Payload Asia and supported by Logistics Insight Asia, the annual awards celebrate air cargo supply chain organizations that have made a difference in the industry. To be eligible for the “Global Freight Forwarder of the Year,” category, nominees had to be offering freight forwarding services in at least three continents. Currently, FedEx Trade Networks operates more than 140 offices in 27 countries around the globe.

Judging criteria for this group included the following four elements:

  1. Customer growth and development strategy
  2. Operational performance in year 2012
  3. Customer service/product innovations
  4. Growth in year 2012
