SEOUL, March 21, 2018 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, announced the sponsorship of Nexen Heroes in the 2018 pro-baseball KBO (Korea Baseball Organization) league at the council chamber in Seoul Gocheok Sky Dome.

“FedEx is proud to support the Nexen Heroes. We share the same commitment as them to deliver high performance through great teamwork, speed and precision,” said Eun-Mi Chae, managing director at FedEx Express Korea. “At FedEx we’re committed to delivering the same world-class performance every day for businesses around the world.”

During the 2018 baseball season, FedEx will feature its logo in the Nexen home stadium and also host a Sponsor Day. In addition, FedEx will invite customers to join the Nexen Heroes home games.

Established in 2008, Nexen Heroes is being hailed as the Nexvengers (Nexen + Avengers) by baseball fans for their outstanding number of homeruns and batting power. This year in particular, the fans’ expectations for the season have been high since major leaguer Park Byung-ho, who played for the Minnesota Twins of the Major League Baseball in 2016-2017, is returning to his old club, Nexen Heroes.

The KBO League currently has 10 professional teams across the nation and each team plays 144 games in a regular season. The KBO League culminates in its championship series, known as the KBO Korean Series after the post-season.
