FedEx Sponsors 2011 Shanghai Rolex Masters

SHANGHAI, October 8, 2011 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), is a sponsor of the 2011 Shanghai Rolex Masters, which starts from today through Oct. 16 at Qizhong Tennis Center.

In September 2010, FedEx Corp. and The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) signed a three-year agreement appointing FedEx as the Platinum Sponsor and Official Carrier of the ATP World Tour. In line with the agreement, FedEx is sponsoring 18 ATP tournaments in 13 countries, including mainland China .

“Through our ATP sponsorship, FedEx is able to bring to life the company’s attributes of reliability, excellence, precision and leadership,” said Eddy Chan , senior vice president, FedEx China . “I am happy that through our support, audiences in China and around the world will be able to watch the finest tennis players in the world display the accuracy, commitment and passion to succeed that has made them leaders on the court.”

A giant FedEx box filled with tennis balls has been placed onsite for a “Guess the number of tennis balls” contest, which will be held until October 15. The person who guesses the exact number or closest to the number of the balls in the box will receive two final day VIP tickets as the prize. The winner will be announced on October 15.

A parallel contest will be held via the FedEx China micro blog account on Sina Weibo (http://weibo.com/fedexcn). Through the online game, people can guess the number of tennis balls and have the opportunity to win FedEx-ATP premiums.

FedEx and Safe Kids Worldwide, a global non-profit organization dedicated to child safety, will conduct a “Slow Down for Kids” campaign at the tournament. A Safe Kids team will come to the FedEx booth and collect signatures from spectators in order to increase public awareness about child pedestrian safety.

A special tennis clinic for children of migrant workers will be held with Hands On Shanghai, a local non-profit organization. FedEx volunteers will teach tennis basics to the children and then watch some tennis matches with them.

The FedEx ATP sponsorship was launched at the 2010 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals in November 2010 and will extend through 2013.
