FedEx Shares Trends in Bio Pharma Cold Chain and Healthcare Shipments

FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, shared logistic tips and solutions to transport temperature-sensitive healthcare shipments at a seminar hosted by the Korea Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (KPMA).

The event, held at KPMA conference hall Seoul on June 14, featured a series of seminars about opportunities to access the European healthcare market for around 120 members of the healthcare industry.

Kunio Odaka, manager of Asia Pacific Healthcare Sales at FedEx Express, shared how to balance the concerns of costs while maintaining the quality that is required for transporting temperature-controlled shipments. Odaka highlighted how FedEx expertise in temperature-controlled shipments, especially for Biosimilars and Stem Cells, can help Korean healthcare businesses access customers around the world. He highlighted how using a global logistics provider such as FedEx, can assist Korean healthcare businesses navigate the complexity of the international supply chain—from customs clearance to monitoring shipments and time-definite solutions.

FedEx Korea offers a diverse range of healthcare shipping solutions including temperature-controlled packaging, which covers shipments at different temperatures ranging from Controlled Room Temperature to Deep Frozen. In February, FedEx launched a distribution center at Kimpo to handle medical shipments. The facility has storage and operations space, and can store, handle and distribute a wide range of temperature-controlled medical shipments.
