FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FEX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, participated in the Global Seller Talk To You seminar hosted by the Global Seller Foundation Center (GSFC). The GSFC is one of Korea’s well-known online communities with more than 39,000 members who have a global online business or are interested in cross-border online selling.

Held at the Kyobo Tower on April 17, approximately 200 Korean cross-border e-commerce sellers attended the seminar to understand how to successfully expand to new markets.

Byung-Joo Kim, manager of Customs Clearance Operations at FedEx Express, shared the opportunities available to Korean online sellers through cross-border business. According to Statistics Korea, the country’s e-commerce exports have grown approximately 21 percent from US$560 million in 2014 to US$680 million by the third quarter of 2015.

Kim highlighted how FedEx expertise helps Korean online businesses access customers around the world. He presented insights about customs clearance and useful tips for transporting cross-border business to consumer shipments. He emphasized the importance of understanding the requirements and accessing up-to-date information on customs clearance regulations before sending shipments.

Kim shared how using a global logistics provider, like FedEx, can help connect e-commerce sellers to more than 220 countries and territories. A reliable logistics provider can use its extensive network to offer flexible solutions and valuable support, such as advice on required documentation, which can minimize the clearance process time.
