FedEx Receives AmCham Corporate Social Responsibility Award

HA NOI, December 2, 2016 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, today received the 2016 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award from the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (AmCham). The annual program recognizes AmCham member companies in Vietnam that facilitate far-reaching community outreach initiatives and conduct business operations in a manner that creates both long-term economic and social value to the country.

“FedEx is committed to supporting the development of sustainable local communities where our team members live and work,” said Dao Toan Thang, senior manager of Indochina and country manager of FedEx Vietnam. “We are honored to be presented with this prestigious accolade for the second straight year. This is a testament to the contribution of our FedEx team members who selflessly dedicate their time and efforts to volunteer for community outreach initiatives across the country.”

FedEx global community outreach is focused on the following areas: road and child pedestrian safety, education, health and human services, environmental sustainability, and disaster relief. In Vietnam, FedEx supports the global FedEx Cares initiative and facilitates programs like the FedEx/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge, the FedEx - Safe Kids Walk This Way program, and FedEx Delivers Heartbeats.



  • FedEx Cares Week

FedEx Cares is an annual worldwide initiative where more than 15,000 FedEx team members from around the world dedicate their time and skills to community outreach. Across the Asia-Pacific region, FedEx Cares activities have a strong community and sustainability focus. FedEx Cares is the company’s global giving platform through which FedEx will invest US$200 million in more than 200 global communities by 2020 to create opportunities and deliver positive change around the world. Local volunteers supplement and enrich these community investments.



  • FedEx – Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge

FedEx works with Junior Achievement (JA), the world’s largest organization dedicated to promoting global trade and entrepreneurship education among the youth. Through JA, FedEx conducts the FedEx/JA International Trade Challenge. Since 2012, the program has attracted more than 700 Vietnamese students by providing students a comprehensive introduction to the fundamentals of business.



  • FedEx – Safe Kids Walk This Way Program

FedEx collaborates with Safe Kids Worldwide in 10 countries around the world, including Vietnam in the Asia Pacific region. In Vietnam, FedEx and Safe Kids Vietnam-AIP Foundation have reached more than 224,263 students to help increase awareness for child pedestrian safety and improve road user behaviors.



  • FedEx Delivers Heartbeats

Since 2011, FedEx collaborates with Heartbeat Vietnam (an initiative of the VinaCapital Foundation) to bring 199 mobile medical outreach clinics that provide free cardiac care to 60,767 children, and offer free diagnosis including 34,299 cardiac ultrasounds, 1,709 post-operative check-ups and counselling, identifying 4,973 children suffering from congenital heart diseases and 3,316 children who require heart surgery.
