FedEx Opens Locations in Heilbronn, Ulm and Villingen-Schwenningen

FRANKFURT AM MAIN, May 7, 2012—FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), and the world’s largest express transportation company, is expanding its presence in Baden-Wuerttemberg where it already operates stations in Freiburg, Karlsruhe, Mannheim, and Stuttgart with the opening of new stations in Heilbronn, Ulm and Villingen-Schwenningen. At these locations FedEx will sort and bundle shipments from regional customers before delivering them to recipients across Europe and around the world.

These new station openings support the FedEx long-term growth strategy in Germany and Europe. The company just recently opened a location in Berlin and also introduced a new flight between the German capital and the FedEx European hub airport at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle in Paris.

“FedEx offers quick and reliable connections between markets—whether that is across Europe or around the globe. With its strong export economy, Baden-Wuerttemberg is a highly attractive region for the company,” says Carl Graham, managing director, Operations, Central and Eastern Europe at FedEx Express. “The expansion of our German station network allows us to continue to grow our service capabilities and market position through smart and strategic investments.”

Baden-Wuerttemberg is one of Germany’s strongest export states, besides Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia. Key destinations for products made in Baden-Wuerttemberg include the U.S., Switzerland, France, the Netherlands, and China, according to information from the state’s statistical office. The automotive and engineering industries are among the biggest exporters in the region.

FedEx Express provides its customers with a wide range of European and intercontinental transport services, ranging from express delivery (overnight within Europe and to the U.S.) to delivery within two to five days. FedEx transports everything from documents and small parcels to heavy shipments of up to 1,000 kg. Additionally, the company offers tailored solutions for numerous industries, including the aerospace, aviation and healthcare sectors.

From Germany to the U.S. overnight: FedEx customers in Heilbronn, Ulm, and Villingen-Schwenningen now also benefit from these reliable express services.
