FedEx Office Commercial Press Earns G7 Master Qualified Printer Designation

DALLAS, August 28, 2013 – FedEx Office Commercial Press, Inc., formerly known as Howard Press, has been qualified as a G7 Master Qualified Printer®, the industry’s premier designation for color management, by the International Digital Enterprise Alliance (IDEAlliance®). The G7 Master Qualified Printer designation identifies printing companies that have been trained to use the G7 Proof-to-Print Process, a calibration method that allows printers to achieve a visual match from proof to press.

“Our customers expect the highest quality and most consistent color on their commercial print pieces. Obtaining the G7 Master Qualified Printer designation is an example of FedEx Office’s commitment to meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations,” said Aimee DiCicco, senior vice president, Sales at FedEx Office. “Regardless of where materials are printed or what machine or substrate is used, we can guarantee the color match will be consistent on all pieces, giving our customers the reliability that they expect from FedEx Office.”

With the G7 designation, customers with strict brand requirements can expect consistent color and a predictable appearance. A key benefit of G7 is that it is device-independent. The G7 calibration methodology is the same for any imaging technology, regardless of substrate, colorants or screening technologies. The G7 color management technique maximizes efficiency with reduced waste and reprints, and shorter set-up and proofing cycles, thereby reducing costs and allowing greater control over the printing process.

The G7 Master Qualified Printer status is granted to a physical facility, equipment and systems, is valid for one calendar year and must be renewed annually. FedEx Commercial Press opted to qualify both of their physical locations.

In addition, Howard Press, a wholly owned subsidiary of FedEx Office, has been renamed to FedEx Office Commercial Press, Inc. FedEx Office Commercial Press offers digital and offset lithography printing, for all types of high quality marketing collateral, direct mail pieces, books, business forms and variable data printing in two secure, limited-access facilities.
