SINGAPORE, May 5, 2014 —For the ninth consecutive year, FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), has been recognized as a top contributor to Singapore Changi Airport’s overall airfreight volume at the annual Changi Airline Awards.

FedEx ranked second in Changi Airport Group’s (CAG) “Top 10 Airlines by Cargo Carriage” and first in the Top 10 Airlines by Absolute Cargo Growth” lists. The rankings are based on the statistics of the total cargo traffic for 2013 as well as absolute growth based on comparing the CY2013 and CY2012 cargo tonnage of all airlines operating out of Changi Airport.

“FedEx is honoured to receive this recognition. It underscores our close collaborative efforts with Changi Airport Group to grow Singapore’s air hub status in the region”, said Khoo Seng-Thiam, managing director, FedEx Express Singapore.

“These awards are testament to FedEx role and commitment in supporting Changi Airport Group to provide businesses and consumers with fast, reliable and unparalleled access to markets worldwide”, he added.

With 34 flights in and out of Singapore weekly, FedEx has the highest number of dedicated flights of any international express company, operating its own flights in and out of Singapore to Asian and U.S. destinations. FedEx South Pacific Regional Hub is located within the Air Cargo Express (ACE) Hub at the Singapore Changi Airport and the 282,700-square-foot integrated facility is a regional consolidation point for transshipments in and out of Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia countries such as Laos and Cambodia.

Started in 2006, the annual Changi Airport Awards recognize the contribution of the airlines to Changi Airport’s development as a vibrant and world-class air hub.
