FedEx Midwest Disaster Relief Effort Ongoing


May 24, 2011: FedEx and its team members are deeply saddened by the devastation caused by the recent tornadoes affecting the Midwest. The thoughts of everyone at FedEx are with the victims, survivors and loved ones affected by these disasters.

Along with the emergency shipping aid, FedEx Freight has made an immediate cash grant of $10,000 to the American Red Cross in support of their relief efforts in the communities. A strong supporter of Red Cross for more than 13 years, FedEx has provided more than $11 million of cash and in-kind support for Red Cross domestic and international relief work.

Direct Relief International in Santa Barbara is sending critical medical aid by FedEx Express donation. Heart to Heart has dispatched a mobile medical unit and aid has shipped from the FedEx Express Kansas City ramp today, compliments of FedEx.

In addition, FedEx Express Stillwater employees have volunteered to make their building the official drop-off point for American Red Cross donations. A group of 15 FedEx employees will deliver the 40 foot trailer to Joplin filled with emergency goods and various rescue equipment.
