FedEx Launches New Advertising Campaign Featuring Koji Murofushi and Team FedEx

Tokyo, Japan, July 23, 2007 -- FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, today launched a new advertising campaign in Japan that features Olympic gold medalist hammer thrower Koji Murofushi as the leader of a group of superheroes called Team FedEx. The new campaign highlights FedEx’s expertise in China, which is underpinned by teamwork and “going beyond the call of duty”.

“FedEx delivers packages to more than 200 cities and counties in Mainland China reliably and on time, and in our advertising campaign we show what it takes to achieve that,” said Malcolm Sullivan, Vice President, Marketing, FedEx Asia Pacific. “More and more companies in Japan are doing business with Mainland China, and the ad shows that we have the expertise to be the company of choice when shipping documents or packages there.”

The ad campaign comprises a print ad featuring Team FedEx that will appear in major newspapers and business magazines, and at selected train and/or subway stations in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.

In tandem with the ad, FedEx is launching an online promotion, “2007 Team FedEx China Campaign”, at (www.fedex.co.jp/teamfedex). Participants can send messages of encouragement to Mr. Murofushi, and also enter a quiz with a grand prize of a visit by the great man himself as a FedEx courier. Other prizes include gift certificates, and life-size poster boards of the star athlete and T-shirts autographed by him.

“Mr. Murofushi is an international sports star who shares the attributes of strength, capability and reliability with FedEx,” said Masamichi Ujiie, Vice President, Northern Pacific, FedEx. “And just like the people at FedEx he strives to exceed people’s expectations.”

FedEx launched a three-year sports sponsorship program in the Asia-Pacific region (Japan, China, Australia, Hong Kong, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand) in 2006. In November last year, FedEx announced it had entered into a three-year sponsorship contract with Mr. Murofushi for Japan.
