FedEx Launches Discount Shipping To Support Small and Medium Enterprises in Korea

SEOUL, August 30, 2017 — FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, and the Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC), today signed an agreement to promote the growth of international trade among Korean small- and medium-sized businesses (SME). The signing ceremony was held at the Global Business Sourcing Fair 2017 at COEX in Seoul, with SBC chairman Lim Chae-woon, SBC global marketing director Lee Young-seung and FedEx Express Korea managing director Eun-Mi Chae in attendance.

As part of the agreement, FedEx will offer discounted rates on international shipping for SBC members. SMEs exporting and importing goods will benefit from reduced logistics costs, which contribute to companies’ global competitiveness.

“FedEx is committed to supporting SMEs grow their business through international trade, and we believe our collaboration with SBC will help strengthen SMEs’ competitiveness as they explore opportunities in new markets,” said Eun-Mi Chae, managing director, FedEx Express Korea. “At FedEx, we will continue to support SMEs’ success in trading internationally with a range of services including consultation over international shipping, logistics, regulatory, customs clearance and paperwork requirements.”

FedEx also had a booth at the Global Business Sourcing Fair 2017 to provide visitors with information on international logistics, customs and tariffs, and global marketing strategies.

The Global Business Sourcing Fair 2017 is hosting more than 95 international buyers and 900 domestic businesses, and will run through August 31.
