FedEx Korea Named Official Carrier Of 16th Busan International Film Festival

SEOUL, Oct. 4, 2011—FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, announced its appointment as the Official Carrier of the 16th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), Oct. 6-14, 2011.
This is the third consecutive year that the company has taken on the role as official carrier. FedEx Korea will be responsible for the inbound and outbound shipments and customs clearance of about 306 films from 67 different countries that will be shown at the festival.
“The safe and reliable delivery of valuable works of art from around the world is essential to the success of the Busan International Film Festival, the largest film festival in Asia,” said Eun-Mi Chae, managing director of FedEx Korea. “With an elaborate network that connects 220 countries and excellent service, FedEx will take enormous efforts to ensure that movie fans can enjoy the event.”
As part of the movie festival, FedEx Korea is also opening a service center at the Asia Film Market 2011 being held in Busan Bexco from October 10 to 13. FedEx will provide express transportation services for 550 buyers, sellers, and film industry representatives from 45 different countries.
More than 180,000 people are expected to attend BIFF, which celebrates its 16th anniversary this year and is now established as the largest international film festival in Asia. FedEx Korea has supported numerous major art programs, including the Korea International Art Fair (KIAF), the Asia Top Gallery Hotel Art Fair (AHAF), the Seoul International Youth Film Festival (SIYFF), and the Seoul International Family Film Festival (SIFFF)as official carrier.
