Shanghai, 24 September 2007 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, in cooperation with Hands On Shanghai, yesterday kicked off its “Adopt A School” program at Yufang Primary School, a migrant school located on the outskirts of Shanghai. More than 100 FedEx employees in China are volunteering as student mentors and tutors, as well as general laborers to improve the infrastructure of Yufang Primary School. Launching this September, the program will hold weekly activities throughout the school year.

In Shanghai, there are currently 400,000 migrant school students attending primary school. Hands On Shanghai, a non-profit organization promoting volunteerism, has been active in addressing the needs of these migrant children who are studying in one of the city’s 350 migrant schools. “‘Adopt A School’ is a holistic approach toward helping the schools improve the education offered to migrant children,” said Eddy Chan, senior vice president of FedEx China who personally tutored a class today. “The program is an ideal opportunity for us to share knowledge and contribute to our community. FedEx has a long-standing commitment to the communities in which we live and work.”
