FedEx Joins Hands Again with Shanghai Rolex Masters, Helping Bring Enjoyment to Chinese Fans

SHANGHAI, September 25, 2012 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), as the Platinum Sponsor and Official Carrier of the ATP World Tour, will once again be supporting the Shanghai Rolex Masters, Asia’s biggest men’s tennis event, which takes place 6-14 October 2012 at Shanghai Qizhong Tennis Center.

This year, FedEx will continue to be the title sponsor of the tournament shuttle bus service, transporting fans to and from the venue. The service was introduced at last year’s tournament and received a very positive reception from users. Improvements to the routes and signage will make the “FedEx Shuttle Bus” even more user-friendly this year. It also demonstrates the joint efforts between FedEx and the organizer to provide outstanding services for the spectators.

“We are very pleased to be continuing our ATP sponsorship in Shanghai,” said Eddy Chan, head of China, senior vice president, FedEx Express. “FedEx shares the same commitment to speed and accuracy that is embodied by the world’s leading tennis players, and the Shanghai Masters event brings to life our focus on top quality service and performance.”

FedEx will be conducting a series of promotional activities during the Shanghai Masters, including a parallel online tennis contest accessible via the FedEx China micro blog account on Sina Weibo (http://weibo.com/fedexcn) for which prizes will be awarded.

A number of FedEx-supported social and community initiatives will also benefit from the company’s involvement in the tournament. FedEx and Safe Kids Worldwide, a global non-profit organization dedicated to child safety, will promote its “Slow Down for Kids” campaign at the event, aiming to increase public awareness of child pedestrian safety by collecting signatures from spectators; and a special tennis clinic for children of migrant workers will be held with Hands On Shanghai, a local non-profit organization, giving 10-12 year olds the chance to learn tennis basics and watch some of the matches.

“Being able to give a platform to these meaningful causes adds another dimension to our sponsorship, and we are delighted to help with spreading the enjoyment of tennis to an even broader audience” said Mr. Chan.

In September 2010, FedEx Corp. and The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) signed a three-year agreement appointing FedEx as the Platinum Sponsor and Official Carrier of the ATP World Tour. In line with the agreement, FedEx is sponsoring 18 ATP tournaments in 13 countries, including mainland China.
