FedEx Hosts ‘FedEx Bazaar’ in Korea To Help Underprivileged Children in Vietnam

SEOUL, April 01, 2013—FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, organized a ‘FedEx Bazaar’ at FedEx Gangnam station Mar. 31 to support underprivileged children from rural areas in Vietnam. Since last year, FedEx Korea has donated all profits and unsold items from the event to ‘FedEx Delivers Heartbeats’

Items for sale at the bazaar were donated by FedEx employees and included clothes, bags, shoes and toys among others. 25 FedEx volunteers were responsible for organizing and promoting the event as well as taking care of sales on the day.

“We are very pleased FedEx Bazaar utilizes our Asian Pacific and global network to not only fulfill our business needs but also to enhance the quality of life for those in local communities ,” said Eun Mi Chae, Managing Director of FedEx Korea. “We will continue to encourage our employees to participate in philanthropic activities that help those who are in need.”

‘FedEx Delivers Heartbeats’ is a program that brings mobile medical clinics to remote areas in Vietnam where children have little access to medical services. Since its initiation in 2011, ‘FedEx Delivers Heartbeats’ has conducted 32 clinics in 21 provinces across Vietnam.
