FedEx Honoured For Best Workplace Practices At The Global CSR Awards

SINGAPORE– FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, was recently recognised for its focus on putting its people first and awarded the Bronze Award for Best Workplace Practices at the Second Annual Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards. This is the second consecutive year that FedEx has been honoured for its workplace practices.

The awards recognize companies for outstanding, innovative and world-class products, services and programmes that demonstrate the companies’ leadership, and ongoing commitment in incorporating ethical values, legal compliance, and respect for individuals, communities and the environment in the way they do business.

“This award is a testament to FedEx unwavering focus on creating and maintaining a workplace environment that brings out the best in every employee. It affirms our People-first philosophy which is a core value in our workplace culture,” said David Cunningham, president, FedEx Express Asia Pacific.

Selected by a distinguished panel of judges made up of professionals from a variety of industry sectors and disciplines, the Best Workplace Practices awards were given to companies with policies and programmes in place that show the respect they have for their employees and how much they value them. The award also looked at areas such as how far the company went to take care of its employees, how it managed dependence care, layoffs, health provision and employee training. It also measured how a company improved quality of life at work, fostered lifelong learning and implemented employee ownership plans. The award is organised by The Pinnacle Group International.

FedEx has been consistently recognised for its people-first philosophy and workplace practices. Further recognition includes:

· For 12 times in 13 years, Fortune has named FedEx one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” by Fortune (1998 – 2010).

· Hewitt Associates, a leading US-based human resources firm, has consistently ranked FedEx as one of the “Top 10 Employers” in Asia since 2000.

· The Tripartite Alliance for Fair Employment Practices (TAFEP) has named FedEx as one of the four winners of the inaugural TAFEP Exemplary Employer awards in 2010.
