FedEx Helps Deliver Book Donations to Vietnam from the USA

Ho Chi Minh City, 14 October 2010 – FedEx, the world’s largest air express company, and San Francisco-Ho Chi Minh City Sister City Committee, have once again collaborated to deliver books to the children of Vietnam via the General Sciences Library of Ho Chi Minh City.

FedEx has been assisting with delivery of the books for the last three years by offering free shipment from the United States of America to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

More than 700 books collected by the San Francisco-Ho Chi Minh City Sister City Committee have already been donated. This recent delivery includes children’s books about the history and culture of the United States of America. Mr Charles Belle - a board member of San Francisco-Ho Chi Minh City Sister City Committee said “We are delighted to be supporting this endeavor and hope that it will help bring interest and enjoyment to Vietnamese children and enable them to learn more about the world.”

Present at the hand-over of the books at the Ho Chi Minh City General Sciences Library were Mr. Nguyen Duy Binh, Chief Representative of FedEx Vietnam, Mr. Charles Belle, a board member of San Francisco-Ho Chi Minh City Sister City Committee, Mr. Tran Thi Gin, Vice Director of General Sciences Library of Ho Chi Minh City and Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Chief of International Relations Division.
