FedEx Golf Challenge Tees off in Shanghai

SHANGHAI, May 23, 2011 — FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, hosted the China qualifying round of the FedEx Golf Challenge 2011 on May 18. The event took place at the Silport Golf Club in Shanghai and marks the first time that the FedEx Golf Challenge, which started in 2007 and involves customers from around the world, has been played in China .



The FedEx Golf Challenge includes qualifying rounds in 10 countries around the world, with the top winners from each country moving on to a playoff at the legendary Pebble Beach Golf Links course in California , U.S. in November. In China , key FedEx customers teamed up with FedEx China employees for the qualifying round. The winner of the China challenge and will join winners from the United States, United Kingdom, Portugal, Peru, Canada, South Korea, Ireland, the U.A.E. and the Dominican Republic to battle it out for the FedEx Cup. Initially launched in the U.S. , the tournament has become truly global in five short years, with events to be held in more than 30 international locations in 2011.
