FedEx Express Shortens Transit Times Between Germany and Bulgaria

Frankfurt am Main/Sofia, February 10, 2010 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), and the world’s largest express transportation company, has shortened the transit times between Germany and Bulgaria, thereby improving its range of services in Eastern Europe. Customers from Germany and other European key markets can now send their shipments to the capital city Sofia within one business day. All other destinations in Bulgaria, which include economic centers Plovdiv and Varna, can now be reached within two business days. FedEx Express has therefore reduced its transit times to Bulgaria by one day.

FedEx has also reduced the transit time from Plovdiv to Germany, with shipments now being delivered within one business day. Transit time from Sofia to Germany remains unaffected for existing customers, providing continued access to FedEx next business day service. These improvements are part of the range of services offered by FedEx Express to customers, and will take place with immediate effect and without additional charges.

In order to make the service enhancements possible, FedEx has introduced a new flight, linking Sofia directly with Budapest four times a week. Hungary’s capital city is the connecting point to FedEx European hub at Roissy-Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris and thus the company’s worldwide network. Consequently, FedEx has also been able to reduce the transit time of documents and non-document shipments up to

22 Euros from the U.S. and key markets in Asia by one business day: These shipments now reach Sofia within two business days and the rest of Bulgaria within three business days.

This service enhancement follows FedEx’s recently announced enhancement of its service to and from Romania. As a result, customers are able to take advantage of the medium- and long-term growth opportunities in the newly industrialized Eastern European countries to an even greater extent. Economic experts expect the Bulgarian economy to experience above-average growth rates again after the crisis.

“These service enhancements in Bulgaria enable us to expand our offer in Eastern Europe, giving our customers greater opportunity to extend their business relations in the region”, said Antje Schütt-Fahrenkrog, Regional Vice President Operations, Central and Eastern Europe and Israel with FedEx Express.
