FedEx Express Ships Puerto Rico Flavors for Culinary Event in Aspen

San Juan, PR June 2008 - FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation and global logistics solutions provider, announced today that everything is ready to send all the materials of the local team that will participate at one of the most important gastronomic events in the US that will take place in Aspen, Colorado, from June 13-15, 2008. FedEx will contribute by shipping materials, including ingredients and food, from Puerto Rico to Aspen. Puerto Rican cuisine will be represented at the event by chefs Wilo Benet, Roberto Treviño, Mario Pagán and Carmen González.

Among the ingredients that will be shipped are: 4 “lechones” of 60 pounds each, “pasteles”, “alcapurrias”, “yucas” and “arroz con gandules”, along with other culinary delights. FedEx is fully committed with the shipping process and ensure their ingredients arrive safely and in time to Aspen.

The 26th edition of this gastronomic festival is one of the premier food festivals in the United States and attracts thousands of enthusiasts. The event returns this year to Aspen with a line-up featuring culinary masters Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Bobby Flay and Jacques Pépin along with trendsetting talents such as David Chang, José Andrés and Michelle Bernstein to name a few.
