Fedex Express Launches Customized Transportation Solutions for Brazilian Exporters

Sao Paulo, February 14, 2007 – FedEx Express, a unit of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transport and global logistics solutions provider, has announced the launch of FedEx Transportation Solutions in Brazil, a new suite of services which allows companies to send single- or multiple-piece shipments to the United States in four to six business days. FedEx Transportation Solutions complements FedEx International Priority® service. which provides 24-48 hour delivery worldwide.

FedEx Transportation Solutions meets the needs of companies that seek reliable, time-definite and quality-assured deliveries, but do not require express transit times. The customized options allow export companies to reduce costs by sending their products to one or multiple destinations in the U.S. with a single rate, regardless of the final destination. FedEx Transportation Solutions combines consolidated customs clearance with the FedEx Express air and ground delivery infrastructure in the U.S., offering exporters a tailored, end-to-end solution through a single, reliable provider. In addition, FedEx real-time tracking and tracing are available for total visibility of all shipments, backed by the FedEx Money-Back Guarantee *.

“FedEx Express understands the business needs in Brazil and the importance of being flexible in order to offer the best transportation solutions to companies in the global marketplace,” said Carlos Ienne, managing director of FedEx Express for Mercosul. “Companies are increasingly seeking reliable and cost-efficient solutions, and FedEx Transportation Solutions was designed with the customers’ evolving needs in mind.”

Some companies have already started using FedEx Transportation Solutions in Brazil, such as Iódice, a key player in the Brazilian fashion industry. The company, which has been doing business in the U.S. for the past five years as Iódice USA, opted for FedEx Express when it learned that FedEx was developing this new service. Iódice has been using the service since September.

“We have 206 points of sale in the United States and decided to use FedEx Transportation Solutions for all of them,” said Adriano Iódice, owner of the company. Iódice makes several large, multiple-piece shipments per year to the United States. Since such shipments have to be delivered to different points within the U.S., the FedEx Express service fits like a glove. “FedEx tailored this service for our needs; our process here is finalized as a single order, reducing excessive paperwork and bureaucracy. The new service guarantees delivery in a timeframe that works for us and also reduces our costs by 17 percent per order.”

Adding to the ease-of-use of this new service, FedEx Transportation Solutions are offered along with the FedEx comprehensive suite of e-Business tools already available for customers on www.fedex.com such as Global Trade Manager and FedEx InSight®. Global Trade Manager simplifies the exporting process through assistance with document preparation, and InSight provides end-to-end visibility of shipments and customer notification at critical times in the transport process.
