SEOUL, September 21, 2015— FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, collaborated with Partners for the Future Foundation, a subsidiary of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea, to support restoration efforts in Seoul on September 19.
50 FedEx volunteers and their family members took part in the ‘Treecle 100 Project’. The project is part of a citizen effort to restore Noeul Park, which served as a Seoul landfill since 1978, to its original state.
FedEx volunteers donated and refurbished 67 used bicycles for the Noeul Park Citizen Community volunteers. The bicycles will help the citizen community volunteers travel more easily throughout the park, which is 45 times larger than an average football field, and carry out restoration work during the year. FedEx volunteers also planted seeds in the park and donated used clothes, shoes and hats for the citizen community volunteers to wear during their restoration efforts. The event was part of the eighth annual FedEx Cares Week, a worldwide initiative where FedEx team members give back to their communities.

Across the region, FedEx Cares Week activities will have a strong community and sustainability focus. About 1,100 FedEx volunteers in Asia Pacific are expected to take part in 42 community activities from Sept 10 to Nov 7.
