BRUSSELS, Mar. 26, 2012 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, has announced the introduction of four Boeing 757 freighters to enhance next-business-day service across eight major European airports.
The four new aircraft now offer next-business-day services to FedEx Express customers in Oslo and significantly improve services for customers in Sweden, Finland, UK and the Netherlands, most notably through faster transit times, as well as extended cut-off times.
With the extra capacity of the Boeing 757s, FedEx Express customers along the routes can also now take advantage of the extended reliability, connectivity and quality of FedEx next-business-day services for heavyweight freight shipments of between 68kg and 1,000kg to a large number of destinations. Most notably, this service improvement enables customers to ship overnight, customs-cleared and door-to-door to the U.S. East Coast, a unique service in Sweden, Finland and Norway.
For inbound services, deliveries to Norway will now arrive one business day earlier, while cut-off times for outbound services from Oslo improve by up to two hours, allowing customers more time to prepare their shipments. Additionally, shipping times are also set to improve in and out of Birmingham, Helsinki and Stockholm as well as their surrounding areas.

In addition to the customer benefits it brings, the introduction of the Boeing 757s continues the company’s commitment to growth in an efficient, environmentally-conscious way, as the Boeing 757 aircraft is known for its improved fuel efficiency and reduced noise levels. Their introduction allows FedEx Express to cease two slower feeder services operated by smaller regional aircraft as well as an Airbus A300, as part of the ongoing process of modernizing its aircraft fleet.
