FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, and Injaz Al-Arab, a member of Junior Achievement Worldwide, hosted an Innovation Camp today for 240 Grade 10 students from The Winchester School in Dubai, as part of the UAE Innovation Month.

With the support of 30 FedEx Express team members, expert trainers from Injaz Al-Arab took the students through various exercises within the marketing, financing and operational aspects of a business. Students were also trained on the use of critical thinking, planning, problem-solving and interpersonal skills through real-world examples. The innovation-focused session also introduced various career options, including entrepreneurship.

The students, in groups of 10, were tasked with submitting business ideas that tested their abilities to apply these newly acquired skills. Their submissions were evaluated by FedEx Express judges based on the level of innovation and market viability. The winning team will be matched with job-shadowing opportunities to gain real-world experience and mentorship.

The aim of the Innovation Camp is to support the UAE’s youth to effectively contribute to the economic development of their societies, and become the business leaders and entrepreneurs of the future.
