SEOUL, April 8, 2015 – FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), is showcasing its industry-leading healthcare solutions at BIO Korea 2015, being held from April 8 to April 10 at COEX in Seoul, Korea.

“Customers no longer look at only speed when choosing express transportation solutions. They are also looking for companies that can offer customized services to meet their diverse needs, and only those companies can help them achieve sustained growth,” said Eun-Mi Chae, managing director of FedEx Express Korea. “FedEx can provide those solutions including a portfolio of temperature- and pressure-sensitive shipping solutions for items like pharmaceuticals, lab samples, medical supplies and other critical items to anywhere in the world safely, quickly and reliably.”

Among the healthcare solutions on display is the FedEx® Deep Frozen Shipping Solution, FedEx® Cold Shipping Package and temperature-controlled packaging solutions.

The FedEx Deep Frozen Shipping Solution is an end-to-end global solution using nitrogen dry vapor technology, which maintains a temperature of -150°C for up to 10 days. It is a safe and cost-effective way to ship high-value, temperature-sensitive clinical samples, medicines and biomaterials, which also eliminates the shipping and handling challenges associated with the traditional way of using dry ice.

The FedEx Cold Shipping Package keeps shipment in a consistent 2°C to 8°C environment for up to 96 hours, without the weight, hassle and expense of gel packs or dry ice. The solution touts lightweight packaging, nearly half the weight of gel packs, and does not require complex assembly process.

FedEx portfolio of temperature-controlled packaging covers various shipment sizes from small to large extended at different temperatures including Controlled Room Temperature (15°C to 25°C), Cold (2°C to 8°C) and Frozen (-20°C).

FedEx is also demonstrating the recently launched Global Returns, a shipping solution which provides customers a service to return high-value healthcare products and various samples from dental kits and surgical sets to kits for collecting specimens and clinical trials.
