The awards provide the transportation industry with a measure of customer satisfaction and performance excellence among both carriers and third-party logistics (3PL) service providers. More than 7,400 readers of Logistics Management magazine ranked carriers on the basis of five key criteria: on-time performance, value, information technology, customer service, and equipment & operations. The 3PL providers are rated on different criteria: carrier selection & negotiation, order fulfillment, transportation & distribution, inventory management, and logistics information systems.

“These awards reflect our commitment to quality and customer service that runs throughout the entire company,” said Patrick Fitzgerald, senior vice president, Integrated Marketing and Communications, FedEx Corp.

The awards will be presented to representatives of winning companies at a gala celebration on Sept. 24 in San Antonio, Texas. To learn more about the Logistics Management announcement and awards, go to http://www.logisticsmgmt.com/article/2014_quest_for_quality.
