Through this collaboration, FedEx aims to empower Filipino SMEs by helping them stay abreast of emerging industry trends and tips to manage shipping processes and sales by tapping into valuable shipment solutions and tools. The virtual sessions will run until September 21, 2021, and will be a platform to help Filipino SMEs maximize different e-commerce platforms to grow their businesses. This is the first time that the program features an international logistics company.

“As the backbone of the Philippine economy, small businesses deserve all the assistance we can offer. SMEs are our growth engine, and we work to help them embrace e-commerce and adopt digital efficiencies. Online selling has taken centre stage and is brimming with new cross-border opportunities for SMEs to expand their business. For the National MSME Week this July, we are excited to work with public and private stakeholders in cultivating a thriving business environment for enterprising Filipinos who want to conquer global markets,” said John Peterson, Managing Director of FedEx Express Philippines.

In addition to this program, FedEx is also working with other e-commerce enablers and industry organizations to facilitate learning and empowerment opportunities among Filipino SMEs, by imparting expertise and engaging in their virtual events.

Together with eBay, FedEx is helping SMEs multiply opportunities in global selling. FedEx provides eBay sellers with free virtual consultations on leveraging efficient and reliable shipping services like FedEx Web Services. FedEx Express is offering a customized onboarding process for new customer sign-ups to better assist them in their specific shipping needs. Customers can enjoy up to a 40% discount on FedEx services, and earn gift certificates worth Php 500 for their first shipment within 7 days from signing up, and another Php 500 on their next shipment within 30 days through the FedEx “2021 Ship now, Shop later” promotion.

For online entrepreneurs in the Queen City of the South, FedEx has worked with the European Chamber of Commerce (ECCP)-Cebu Chapter, PHILEXPORT Cebu, and Cebu Chamber of Commerce Inc. for its second Online masterclass for provincial SMEs. The masterclass showcased the latest FedEx service enhancements for customers in Cebu, such as extended booking, pick-up, and cut-off time. It also equipped customers with up-to-date tools and export-import practices for their industries.

“Through these collaborations, FedEx aims to promote understanding of and access to valuable logistics solutions, as well as reliable and robust e-commerce platforms so SMEs can expand their customer base, and accelerate their business growth,” added Peterson.
