FedEx Celebrates Annual ‘FedEx Cares Week’ in More Than 50 Latin American and Caribbean Cities

MIAMI, October 28, 2014—Team members of FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), across the Latin America and Caribbean (LAC) region are celebrating the tenth anniversary of FedEx Cares Week, an annual community service event, to volunteer and give back to the communities in which they live and work. What started with just a handful of U.S. cities a decade ago has expanded into nearly 400 cities around the world, including Bogota, Sao Paulo and Mexico City.

This year FedEx team members across the globe committed to serve their communities as part of FedEx Cares Week in countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Canada, Spain, Italy, Australia and the United States. In the LAC region, FedEx team members planned volunteer projects in 27 countries and about 127 cities. Nearly 2,000 volunteers to date have participated or plan to participate in FedEx Cares Week projects in the LAC region through November.

“Our FedEx team members truly care about making a positive impact in their communities,” said Juan N. Cento, regional president, FedEx Express Latin America and Caribbean. “We are honored to continue this annual tradition throughout the LAC region, delivering hope and support by volunteering with local nonprofit organizations across a number of countries.”

In addition to thousands of volunteer hours donated each year, FedEx and its team members globally gave more than $11.4 million to the United Way in the United States and other local nonprofits in 2013.

This year’s FedEx Cares Week service projects across Latin America and the Caribbean include:

·Building transitional homes as part of the TECHO program in Panama, Guatemala, Colombia and Argentina

·Renovating a children’s home in Jamaica

·Serving meals at a homeless shelter in Puerto Rico

·Raising funds for a rural village community center in Mexico in conjunction with Un Kilo de Ayuda

·Working with CUFA in Brazil to improve education among underprivileged young people by providing better learning opportunities

FedEx team members from the LAC region have celebrated this dedicated time of volunteer service for seven years. This year’s activities in the region commenced in mid-September and will conclude in mid-November.
