TAIPEI, December 23, 2015 — In celebration of its 25 years of operations in Taiwan, FedEx Express (FedEx) organized a series of community activities during October and November. In all, 260 FedEx volunteers participated in activities at a children’s home, donated blood, and helped clean up coastal and mountain areas.

“FedEx is proud to have served the economy and community in Taiwan for the past 25 years,” said Michael Chu, managing director, FedEx Express, Taiwan. “We look forward to many more years of supporting the local needs. Giving back to the community has become an integral part of the FedEx culture, and we are honored to have dedicated FedEx volunteers who help improve the well-being and environment for our community.”

Details of the volunteer events are as follows:

  • On October 25, November 22 and November 25, FedEx mobilized 140 volunteers to remove debris from three precious natural resources: Zhuwei Fishing Port in Taoyuan, Elephant Mountain in Taipei and Shimen Mountain in Taoyuan. These environmental cleanups not only provided an opportunity for volunteers to learn more about the causes of pollution, it also raised public awareness about nature conservation.
  • On November 7, FedEx organized a fun day at the White Kite Children’s Home, a home for children suffering from domestic violence. More than 50 FedEx volunteers played games and lunched with 32 kids. They also transported 11 boxes of supplies, including clothes, stationary and toys, donated by FedEx team members.
  • On November 8, 66 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and donated blood to the Taiwan Blood Services Foundation to help patients in need as well as promote voluntary blood donation.
